When I was first introduced to chiropractic, I was skeptical…
Chiropractic has changed my life. I didn’t have any life threatening illnesses or major health concerns, but I started living a life that led me to be healthier than I knew possible. Chiropractic gave me the opportunity to do the things in life that I enjoy and I know that by making healthier decisions every day I will be able to do those things for a long time.
I work with pediatrics, pregnant moms, men and everyone in between. My passion is working with mommy’s-to-be and children. I know that every child has the potential to be amazing, but many times they need an extra little something to fully be healthy.
I am certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association for proficiency in the Webster technique. I believe that every woman should have a chance to have the birth that they desire, and regular chiropractic care during pregnancy allows women a better chance to have that.
How Chiropractic Started for Dr. Miranda Abbott
I was first introduced to chiropractic when I was in high school and I started working at a chiropractic office. At first I wasn’t sure what to think, but every day I was able to see just how life changing it was. Whether it was someone coming in for continued wellness care or because of a certain complaint, everyone’s level of health improved. The longer I worked at the office, the more chiropractic became a part of me. I don’t know that I chose chiropractic. I think that chiropractic chose me. There was no other career path I could have chosen that would have allowed me to impact people’s lives in such a significant way as I could by being
I attended chiropractic school at Life University of Chiropractic in Marietta, GA. I chose Life because of the leadership they had in their chiropractic program and the recommendations I got from my mentors in chiropractic. The location wasn’t so bad either, being only a few miles from Atlanta!
When I was looking into the chiropractic education, the course work surprised me. Not only did we take classes about chiropractic, we took everything from radiology to microbiology. The most life changing courses for me were the ones about pediatrics. I developed a love for working with children and learned everything I could to better understand how to impact a child’s life in such a powerful way.
My Goal as a Chiropractor
My goal every day in the office is to impact each person’s health and life to the best of my ability. Our health is more than just how we feel and it is my goal to educate our community about what true health really is. I find that children respond so quickly to chiropractic care and the results I see with them are amazing. I love when people take their care seriously and follow through with my recommendations. These people tend to get the best results. Some of the best moments in practice are when people’s lives are changed in a way that they never thought was possible. They were told for years and years that they would have to live with it or that it could never change, but then it does. These are the moments where I feel so blessed to do what I do. When I give the body that extra something it needs, the results are limitless because the body starts working the way that it was designed to.
On a Personal Note
After graduating from chiropractic school my husband Greg and I moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to both of our families. Family has been such a huge part of our lives and having them close by means the world to us.
Greg and I have four amazing children, Noah who is 9, Joselyn who is 7, Allison who is 5 and Livy who is 3.
In my personal time I like to go hiking, cook, watch movies and be with family and friends. Since moving back to Wisconsin, we’ve created a few traditions. We now enjoy making applesauce in the fall, picking strawberries, blueberries and cherries in the summer and making fresh salsa from vegetables in the garden!
I get chiropractic care on a weekly basis and I have for many years. I find that getting checked on a regular basis allows me to prevent problems from occurring and it allows my body to function at a higher level than when I don’t get checked.
I love food! Growing up my dad had a huge garden and one of my favorite things would be going out to the garden and picking a tomato and eating it like an apple. We spend a lot of time in our kitchen and fresh fruits and veggies are a huge part of our diet. When I eat things that are full of life, it gives me more energy and makes me feel great! I do have to admit, I love ice cream! And if I’m going to splurge, that is most likely going to be the place. But it’s all about moderation!
Whether you’re young or young at heart, I want to make sure that you have the ability to be healthy and do the things you love to do in life because life is too short to spend it any other way.
